Car rental at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport

Charles de Gaulle (CDG) is one of Europe's busiest airports, and its rental offering matches: every major supplier is represented across the terminals. For trips into Champagne, northern France or Belgium, picking up here skips Paris traffic entirely.

01

Pick-up locations

Rental desks are located in Terminal 1 and across the Terminal 2 complex (2A–2F), with cars collected from the terminal car parks; the free CDGVAL shuttle train links all terminals. Terminal 3 has no rental desks — passengers use the CDGVAL to reach T1. Check your voucher for the exact pick-up point.

02

Driving there

CDG connects straight onto the A1 motorway: central Paris in about 45 minutes with no traffic, and quick links east to the A4 for Champagne and Reims. The airport ring can be confusing on a first visit — follow 'Location de voitures / Car rental return' signage on your way back and keep the fuel receipt for full-to-full returns.

03

Good to know

Rush-hour traffic on the A1 into Paris is heavy; if you are heading south or west of the city, routing via the A104 francilienne often saves time. Returning at Terminal 2 during morning peaks is busy — allow a 20–30 minute buffer.
