Naples Capodichino (NAP) sits inside the urban area, ten minutes from the centre and right by the Tangenziale — which means you can be heading for Pompeii or the Sorrento peninsula within minutes of picking up the keys, without crossing the city.
Pick-up locations
Rental desks are in the arrivals hall; cars are collected from the airport car parks, some reached by a short walk, some by supplier shuttle — your voucher has the details. Fleets cover all main categories but summer demand is heavy: compare and book ahead.
Driving there
The A56 Tangenziale and the A3 motorway are immediately accessible: Pompeii in about 25 minutes, Salerno in 45, the Amalfi Coast turn-off in under an hour. City-centre driving involves ZTL zones, so if Naples comes first, consider the Alibus or a taxi into town and collect the car later.
Good to know
Morning and late-afternoon commuter peaks clog the Tangenziale on weekdays — time your pick-up outside them if you can. Fuel stations on the airport perimeter make full-to-full returns easy; keep the receipt.
